Kale Chips Recipe
Here’s a simple and delicious recipe for Oven-Baked Kale Chips that will have you snacking guilt-free! Kale chips are a fantastic alternative to traditional potato chips—they’re crispy, light, and packed with nutrients like fiber, vitamins A, C, and K, and antioxidants.
Ingredients:
Kale: 1 large bunch, washed and thoroughly dried
Olive Oil: 1–2 tablespoons
Salt: ½ teaspoon, or to taste
Optional Seasonings: Try a sprinkle of garlic powder, paprika, or nutritional yeast for added flavor!
Instructions:
Prep: Preheat your oven to 300°F (150°C). Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper.
Prepare Kale: Remove the stems from the kale leaves and tear the leaves into chip-sized pieces. Be sure the kale is completely dry—any moisture can lead to sogginess.
Season: Place the kale in a large bowl, drizzle with olive oil, and toss well to coat. Sprinkle with salt and any other desired seasonings.
Bake: Spread the kale in a single layer on the baking sheet, avoiding any overlap. Bake for 10–15 minutes, keeping an eye on them around the 10-minute mark to prevent burning.
Cool and Serve: Once crispy, remove from the oven and let them cool slightly. They’ll continue to crisp as they cool.
Tips for the Best Kale Chips:
Ensure Dry Leaves: Drying the kale thoroughly is crucial for crispiness.
Don’t Overcrowd: Give the kale pieces enough room on the baking sheet; overcrowding can trap steam and lead to soggy chips.
Experiment with Flavors: Kale chips are very versatile. Try adding spices like smoked paprika, cumin, or nutritional yeast for a cheesy flavor.
